ALPHARETTA, Ga., June 2, 2014 – LG Electronics USA announced the U.S. availability of the LG Multi V Water IV water source unit, a flexible new Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) HVAC system that comes in two configurations: heat pump and heat recovery. Both systems can accommodate up to 64 thermal zones with technology that allows the user to pipe farther, reaching distant areas of a building. The innovative systems eliminate the need for additional units and provide designers with uncompromised engineering flexibility.

The Multi V Water IV water source units have smaller space requirements and reduced piping needs compared with typical chilled water or water source heat pump systems, reducing the overall construction and material cost of the building and allowing more leasable space for the owner. The smart placement of system components and short pipe lengths result in lower installations and energy costs.

The Multi V Water IV operates with the latest inverter technology, as its scroll compressor is optimized to maximize compressor energy efficiency, which significantly reduces power consumption by delivering an appropriate amount of cooling to all indoor units. Its precise refrigerant volume delivery allows occupants to remain comfortable while lowering utility costs and enhancing energy savings.

The Multi V Water IV systems also are designed to operate at low sound levels, allowing the unit to be installed virtually anywhere inside so tenants can continue to enjoy a peaceful, quiet environment. Multi V Water IV also offers a unique variable water flow control system to reduce condenser water pumping energy. Due to their light weight and compact footprint, the Multi V Water IV units are ideal systems for offices, condos, hotels, schools and both new construction and retrofits.

“These new water source systems exemplify how LG continues to drive HVAC innovation and quality with flexible VRF solutions that cater to the needs of building owners and designers,” said Kevin McNamara, Vice President of Commercial Air Conditioning. “Building on our broad line of other Multi V IV products, the Multi V Water IV provides designers with another way to reduce engineering costs and maintain incredible energy savings for their customers.”

The Multi V Water IV will be on display, along with other LG HVAC products, at the 2014 AIA (American Institute of Architects) Expo, June 26-28 in Chicago at booth #1833. Additional information on LG’s Commercial Air Conditioning Solutions can be found at www.lghvac.com.
